PPJ Invitational 2022 - PPJ 2010 - a tournament for invitees on 5-6.1.2022

Welcome to this year's edition of PPJ Invitational.

A tournament for boys born in 2010. The tournament is for 8 teams and only invited. Same layout as last year, (which was unfortunately canceled). 8 clubs and everyone plays against everyone. All clubs participate with two teams (2 levels).

The tournament will be played in PPJ's brand new football hall right next to the center of Helsinki. PPJ's hall was completed in November 2020 and the setting is the finest. During the winter, the Veikkausliiga teams HJK, HIFK, Ilves and Haka have played in the hall. In March 2021, Bosnia and Barcelona star Miralem Pjanici practiced in the hall with his national team.

What is PPJ football club?

PPJ stands for "Pallo Pojat Juniorit" (Ball Boys Juniors). PPJ is Finland's third-largest football club in terms of numbers of players, about 2,000 players. The largest in Finland is HJK (Helsinki), followed by Ilves (Tampere).

PPJ is based in central southern Helsinki. In pure English, you can say that PPJ is in the districts south of Stockmann and on the island, Drumsö which is on the city map to the left of the center.

PPJ 2010 Academy team?

PPJ is divided into three districts (areas), Eira, Jätkäsaari and Lauttasaari. When the boys turn 12, PPJ establishes a Academy team for each age group. The tournament is organized by the 2010 academy team. The team consists of 24 players and 2 coaches.

The national team is founded in October 2021. At the time of writing, only me and the future head coach are in the team :)

Why would we come to this tournament?

PPJ offers you the opportunity to face possibly the toughest teams in Finland in this age group (born 2010). We offer the opportunity to weigh your own level against others. We also offer the opportunity to play against new, previously unknown opponents. In addition, it is planned that the tournament will have 6 domestic clubs and 2 from abroad. Hammarby IF and Tullinge TK has made a preliminary promise to participate in the tournament. Both teams from Stockholm area.

Accommodation in a beautiful hotel at a really affordable price!
PPJ offers long-distance travelers the opportunity to stay at a really affordable price at a top hotel, Clarion Helsinki. Accommodation costs 85 euros / double room, or 110 euros / double room. This rate includes both breakfast and the opportunity to swim in the hotel's swimming pool, located on the 16th floor of the hotel.
